Introduction:

The medical ethics collection is intended to augment the Medical Science Institute curriculum at Midwood High School. This Institute is a challenging sequence of courses focusing on science and mathematics, in which students are required to complete five years of Regents-level science classes. Among the required classes in the Institute is a class in medical ethics, and another in science research.

Questions for Inquiry:

How can we conduct human research in an ethical manner? How can we treat all patients ethically? How do we allow patients to die with dignity? Do we treat people at all levels of society in an equal manner? Should we treat all patients the same? Do we have the right to engineer living things? To what extent do we have the right to intervene in reproduction?
